For years we have been searching for the best addition to the brilliance that Matwork based Pilates can deliver to clients in their own home, workplace or even as they travel. The APPI Matwork program delivered so much to so many people on the rehabilitation front that I really wanted to be able to offer them something to continue with when they were fully recovered.

Over the last few years as our association with the fitness industry has grown and grown we have seen the need for a similar approach to High Intensity Training that we adopted to the traditional Pilates method. We saw many colleagues and clients alike getting injured from tackling some the extreme exercise DVDs that are out there. As such we started to undertake the process of applying the principles of modification, precision and education to the concept of High Intensity Exercise. Throughout our research we saw that many of the basic principles of exercise teaching were missing from these programs. I also saw that the guidance to whom should be doing these programs were also vague and potentially not fully informative enough.

From this the HealthyHIIT concept was born. A healthy way to achieve High IntensityTraining, or High Intensity Interval Training. The program that you are about to undertake brings together the enormous benefits of High Intensity Training with the control and precision of Pilates. We felt it essential that when doing such high load, high intensity movements that we must also remind the body what the internal support structures need to do to ensure we can work in this way. Therefore, instead of resting between HIIT sessions, we have created the program that you use the rest periods as muscle memory periods by incorporating the Pilates movements that have served us so well over the last 15 years.

What is HealthyHIIT?

  • High-intensity training (HIT) or High Intensity Interval training (HIIT), is an enhanced form of training for increased metabolic changes.
  • An exercise strategy alternating periods of short intense anaerobic exercise with less-intense recovery periods.
  • Usual HIIT sessions may vary from 4–30 minutes.
  • These short, intense workouts provide improved athletic capacity and condition, improved glucose metabolism, and improved fat burning

 

Below is the details you require for your certification content, remember you will receive the password for your certification video content on the Monday morning of your chosen 7-day access.

All of the course content will show in your education learner profile here, you will receive a access code and instructions the morning of the first day your chosen 7 day access. This certification is self paced over 7 days, we always recommend that you watch the videos in order but then go back prior to your access expiring to any items you wish to revisit.

After your 7-day access has expired the video links will remain on your account but you will not be able to access them as your password would have expired, but you will be able to still access your manual and logbook.

Equipment

To join this Healthy HIIT certification, we ask that you have a clear space, a fitness mat and a head cushion for head support (this can be a folded towel).

We also ask that you please ensure you are wearing suitable supportive shoes for the duration of the course.

We advise that you also have a towel and a bottle of water close by as this is a high intensity program and you need to ensure that you stay hydrated.
