Course Overview

APPI’s Cadillac course is a 4 day program that will take you through an enormous variety of exercises and the in depth reasoning behind each and every exercise that we are so well known for. We will analyze each exercise to look at the clients performance of the movement, any dysfunction that we may see and how to assess and manage this to lead your client back to full health and wellness. The course will progress the exercises over the 4 days from beginner all the way to full strength and conditioning exercises.

During the course you’ll learn a large variety of beginner, intermediate and advanced original and APPI evolved Pilates movements along with countless modifications and variations. Special consideration is made to movement selection, muscle recruitment and patterning, alignment, modification feedback and progression throughout the tutorials. The Cadillac is especially good at looking at rehabilitation of the upper limb with a huge range of shoulder specific exercises. IN addition, the range of mobilization and articulation movements that can be performed on the Cadillac is superior to any other piece of the equipment Pilates has to offer. With exercises from lying, to kneeling and all the way to standing their really is no limit to what you can achieve, adapt and evolve with your Cadillac based repertoire.

Whilst the theoretical workshops will develop and refine visual, tactile and audio cueing, one to one program planning, home exercise program planning and group teaching for students to develop their skills and confidence to become comprehensive and articulate teachers.

The program will look at individual teaching and 1:1 program planning as well as discuss how to run mixed studio sessions where you incorporate other pieces of equipment into a group session.

Return to course overview

First thing to ask is….

Which courses have you already completed or certified in and what is your end goal?

If you have completed a Matwork Certification and your end goal is to add APPI Certified Cadillac Instructor to your repertoire, then all you need to do is complete the logbook and the Cadillac solo practical exam (details can be found below)

Or alternatively your end goal might be that you want to become a APPI Fully Certified Instructor (our gold standard) and you have already completed a Matwork Certification and possibly the APPI Reformer Certification, and you are planning to complete the rest of the APPI Split Pedal and Arc Barrel courses, then we would advise for you to complete all the individual modules of the Large Equipment Series and then take the Large Equipment Exam which is in 2 parts and incorporates all 4 pieces of the large equipment. This way you can gain the Gold Standard of APPI Fully Certified Instructor and there is only a 2 part exam to complete rather than multiple practical exams.

Why should I sit the certification exam?

  • Gain a new career
  • Stand out in an interview
  • Start your own business
  • Work wherever and whenever you like
  • Demand a pay rise as a specialist instructor
  • Increase your results with patients and clients
  • Expand your services and offerings
  • Gain a sporting team or corporate Pilates contract

APPI has spent years developing what is now recognised as the premier Pilates Rehabilitation program. By gaining a qualification as a Cadillac Certified Pilates Instructor you are gaining an entire new career. In today’s world this qualification is just as valuable as any degree or work experience. Many of our graduates are now running successful Pilates businesses, be it stand alone classes, studio’s or sporting and corporate contract work.
