Pilates and the Menopause is a 1 day CPD course designed to equip students with the tools needed to ensure they can provide the very best Pilates’s sessions for women from Peri through to Post Menopause. Designed by APPI Presenter and Pelvic Health Physiotherapist, Pippa Carter. This course offers education on the anatomy and physiology of the menopause, an understanding of current treatment options and a selection of Pilates exercises aimed to increase strength, bone health and balance through resistance training and weight bearing exercises. The course also discusses the benefits of mindfulness and how to include this within your sessions.

The course content has been designed, filmed and is delivered to you by our Presenter Pippa Carter, each part of your course has been broken down into manageable chunks for you to watch, stop, start and refresh over the 7 days that you have access for.

To prepare for the course we firstly recommend that if you have attended APPI Matwork Level One that you review your manual to familiarize yourself with the Pilates principles of teaching.

 To help prepare for the course, please note the checklist of suggestions:

What else can help you with this course:

We have a range of online Women’s Health Pilates classes which you also can use as preparation for the course and they can be accessed on the APPI Pilates TV Channel. You can sign up for your free 10 day trial today here – www.appi.tv

All of our courses are heavily practical based, and we ask that if possible that you have a Pilates Mat and Pilates Head Cushion or a towel that that you can roll up for both days, this is not essential for you to complete the course and gain your certificate of attendance.

Please ensure that you have a space that is clear of items so you can follow along with the practical elements of the class.

If you do have any other Pilates equipment please make this available for your course e.g. Pilates soft ball, Pilates band, Pilates magic circle.

The presenter will be demonstrating the modifications of the exercises and it is useful if you are able to experience all parts of the practical content, the full list of equipment that will be used in the course is below:

1 x 3 inch head pad
1 x 1 inch head pad
1 x Pair of 0.5kg or 1 kg hand weights (weighted balls are preferred)
1 x Heavy Strength Resistance Band (Leg Band)
1 x Light Strength Resistance Band (Arm Band)

** It is not essential for you to have this equipment to partake and complete the course.

Welcome to the Pilates for the Menopause Online Pilates Course. You will have received a access code to access this course which is active for 7 days.

To access this course content, you will receive an access code on the Monday of your chosen week at approx 8:30am UK Time, please make sure you check your junk folder.

We advise that you spend a minimum of practicing each of the movements yourself for 15 minutes to really consolidate the learning, before where possible inviting someone to act as your client to practice the teaching of the movements.

Need an extension?
If you would like to purchase a further weeks extension for this course please contact the office to pay the $65 administration fee for us to extend your access by a further 7 days, as we understand that sometimes things do a rise that are out of our control, or you would simply like to consolodate your learning a bit more.
