Course Overview
The Pilates reformer is one of the most versatile pieces of Pilates equipment in the entire Pilates industry. It’s versatility means it is the most widely used of the larger Pilates equipment and allows a client to progress from the Matwork exercises at a much faster pace. The unique 5 spring system of the reformer means that you can begin to add resistance to the movements right from the beginner series of movement. One of the most unique aspects of the reformer is the range of positions that you can use. Exercises are taught in supine lying, kneeling, sitting, standing on the reformer, standing to the side of the reformer and much more. This ability to alter the position of the exercise to a significantly more functional and upright approach leads to excellent results for teachers and clients alike.
APPI’s program is a 6 day program that will take you through an enormous variety of exercises and the in depth reasoning behind each and every exercise that we are so well known for. We will analyze each exercise to look at the clients performance of the movement, any dysfunction that we may see and how to assess and manage this to lead your client back to full health and wellness. The exercises will progress the exercises over the 6 days from beginner all the way to full strength and conditioning exercises.
The program will look at individual teaching and 1:1 program planning as well as group reformer teaching and class planning brining in aspects of movement choreography and teaching skills to enhance and develop great 1:1 and class teachers.
Following the completion of the course you will get a certification exam to gain your full qualification.
*You will start by selecting your preferred week with Reformer 1 and receive a password for access to your videos. Upon completion, you will receive your certificate along with the request to select your week for Reformer 2. Once your certificate is sent for Reformer 2, you will be asked to select your week for Reformer 3.
**If you have already completed any of the reformer courses live/livestream and would like to take only 1-2 courses online, please email us at info@appiamerica.com and we will get you the ones you need to complete your certification process.
