CASE EXAMPLE: TWO DIGIT HAND
Lukapa only has 2 digits for each hand. His hands were seen as very functional during the exam.
He could use his hands for breast feeding and to grasp objects.
Surgery for Lukapa would only decrease the function of his hands.
Lupaka also has severe deformities of his feet. His ankles did not form.
The surgeons suggested lower extremity amputations with prosthetics so that Lupaka could learn to crawl, sit and eventually walk.
